The research, conducted at the Comprehensive Center for Brain Health, revealed that these lifestyle factors provided protective benefits specifically for APOE4 carriers, while no similar advantages were observed in non-carriers. The researchers suggest that mindfulness and social activities may mitigate the heightened inflammation associated with the APOE4 variant, thereby supporting cognitive health in this at-risk population.
