Some recent articles that came into my inbox of note … recent examples of people getting creative with meditation!
1. Japan’s first “Quantified Meditation Challenge”:
The World Meditation League (WML) and All Here recently staged Japan’s first “Quantified Meditation Challenge” in Tokyo (October 2, 2025), transforming meditation from a private, introspective practice into a “publicly visible, data‑driven event”. Participants wore brain‑imaging and neuro‑monitoring equipment as metrics such as a “Concentration & Mindfulness Index (CMI)”, “Silent Mind Index (SMI)”, and a peak score labelled “QM3™” (representing the deepest three‑minute meditative state) were displayed in real time on screens. The organisers frame this as a “new era” for meditation – with inner silence becoming quantifiable, trainable and competitive.
No judgment .. but I find this very curious!

2. A womb-like meditation retreat for the workspace:
I have seen (and experienced) a few different imaginings of a meditation pod – here is the latest that popped into my emails – called, the “Iris Meditation Pod” it’s been designed for high‑stress environments (like hospitals, corporate workspaces or hospitality venues), creating a “womb‑like” chamber using sound‑insulation, vibro‑acoustic flooring, soft lighting, aromatherapy and guided soundscapes — all engineered to help a user reach a calmer brain state in just 12 minutes. The design emphasizes both wellness and aesthetics: bent wood frames, felt‑lined walls and materials chosen to blend into upscale interiors rather than look gadgety. The team explain that this is less about building a meditation gadget and more about making wellness accessible in everyday professional settings.
Would you like a meditation pod in your work environment?
