A Meditative Exercise is a brief and simple practice based on some of the key elements of longer, more traditional meditation practices.  They can be done pretty much anywhere and anytime; empowering us to release some of our day-to-day stress, quickly and easily.

Meditative Exercises allow us to apply to the skill of meditation to the busy-ness of everyday life, and while they may appear subtle at first they gain significant power with repetition.

When racing through life we tend to revert to upper chest shallow breathing which limits not only our breath, but impacts our health and wellbeing.  This exercise is an excellent circuit-breaker for poor breathing; encouraging us to take a stronger and deeper inhalation (increasing oxygen levels) and slow down the exhalation (promoting a sense of ease and calmness).  A wonderful exercise for moments in life when we suddenly become aware of an internal tension or sense of rising anxiety.

I have found … over the years .. that PLANNING i I have found … over the years .. that PLANNING is the key to making things happen.
And this is true for meditation.
Do you plan for your morning meditation? 
*getting a good nights sleep beforehand - to clear the mind and rest well
*relocating any distractions away from arms reach - yes, devices not near the bed
*a warm blanket or shawl ready to wrap yourself up in - to reduce the likelihood of avoidance due to cold
*a glass of water - to refresh on waking
*reminding your partner or others in the house that you are rising for meditation - not discussions or activities or tasks
*getting your outfit/clothes/work gear ready the night before - so you don’t stress about it all when meditating
and
*setting a gentle alarm - something soft that doesn’t startle your awake, and with enough time to meditate without watching the clock ⏰ 
This is the PLAN for success .. if you really intend to Meditate in the morning!
