Decorative Mala (not for mantra 108 practice) sourced from previous Bali samples.

A lovely mala-style necklace to enjoy wearing out in the world. Hand knotted with sandalwood and glass beads .. reflecting the colors of the ocean and nature, with pale/ice green tassels and gold accent beads.

Necklace size length: 59cm in length with tassel

Materials: sandalwood and glass beads, hand-knotted

Color: Watercolors with a mix of ocean blue, purple, pink and clear

Head Bead: Gold Buddha (1cm length bead) with 9.5cm pale/ice green tassel

Side Tassels (two): 4.5cm pale/ice green with gold thread

*Sizes are approximate as each sample may differ slightly in design.

Buddha Bead: The Buddha is the embodiment of enlightenment, and representations of the Buddha symbol promote inner contemplation and focus on the release of earthly desires and needs.

Decorative Mala: Mala that are used for mantra recitation will most often be made of 108 beads and kept in a sacred and private space for personal practice. When not used specifically for meditation, decorative mala necklaces can be simply worn as a reminder of the calm, mindfulness and peace that you wish to carry throughout the day.

A little reminder for participants in yesterday’ A little reminder for participants in yesterday’s Meditation & Mindfulness ‘Superpower’ session yesterday.  A great addition to their Corporate Wellbeing Day.

A little desk card to visually remind staff that they have the power to positively influence their nervous system and ‘reverse-engineer their mood’ (Stanford Uni. study) by attending to their breath. ⁣
⁣
We started the morning with:⁣
⁣
- four Meditative Breathwork exercises to calm and relax 🧘🏼‍♀️⁣
⁣
Then, later in the morning:⁣
⁣
- a Mindful Movement series to awaken and energize 🔋⁣
⁣
Inside this little card are some reminders of the exercises we did together, and some Mindfulness questions:⁣

*How does your body, your mind and your life energy feel in this moment?⁣
⁣
As we all try to navigate the ongoing changes in the way we work, independently and as part of team, from home or returning to an office environment .. stress and loneliness are a shared experience.⁣

The ‘Superpower’ session focusses on the power of our breath .. to positively influence the nervous system, release stress and anxiety, improve our sense of well-being and even adjust your mood!⁣

We shall practice some Breathwork that is particularly effectively in calming and relaxing (Power Down) and then some breath and Mindful Movement practices that energize and clear the mind (Power Up) - so participants will have some ‘power tools’ in their life toolbox during these challenging times.⁣

Sometimes meditation is seen as too difficult, uncomfortable, too serious or complex, or boring.⁣
⁣
And sometimes it is .. other times it can be insightful, invigorating, calming, peaceful and life affirming.  Sometimes blissful and healing.⁣
⁣
So be curious about any tendency to distract yourself with these stories or expectations .. and see if you can invite a sense of effortlessness.⁣
⁣
For just a few minutes.⁣
 ⁣
And today.
Just sit.⁣
 ⁣
Don’t try to ‘do’ anything.⁣
Just sit.⁣
 ⁣
Maybe you will find your breath or a sensation or a sound.⁣
Rest there.⁣

With a sense of effortlessness and ease.

This is an annual event instigated by the international Breathwork Foundation in recognition that:⁣
⁣
‘breathing consciously plays a key role in health and wellbeing, unity, quality education, equality, self-empowerment, and inner and outer peace’.⁣
⁣
Our breathe is our super power and power-tool!⁣
 ⁣
Alongside the knowledge gained from the ancient practice of meditation, there is now sufficient scientific evidence that intentional deep breathing can calm and regulate the autonomic nervous system (ANS), slow our heart rate and lower blood pressure, and provide an almost immediate sense of calm and ease.⁣
 ⁣
IN FACT:⁣
 ⁣
How we breathe has a profound impact on our physiological and psychological well-being, and there is a breathing pattern associated with the sense of ease and calm, and a breathing pattern associated with anger and frustration (and much more in between).⁣
 ⁣
I loved reading the study from Stanford University School of Medicine and the University of California that suggested that it is indeed possible to ‘reverse engineer your mood simply by altering breathing’.⁣
 ⁣

Sharni was inspired during the 2020 lockdown to reach out to a group of emerging and established artists and create this interactive art experiment.⁣
⁣
The result is a beautiful collection of 30 line-drawings from all over the world .. curated to ⁣
⁣
‘inspire people to colour more and worry less’⁣
⁣
And each artist has been inspired by a favorite cover song that is linked to each artwork!⁣
⁣
Armed with paint, watercolor, pencils or markers .. with a Spotify playlist in the background .. you become the Colourist and on completion have an art-pad quality piece to hang or gift 🎨⁣
