Some thoughts today on finding steadiness through life’s many seasons … and the simple ways you can begin your own meditation journey.

Right now, I am super excited to find myself a student navigating a slightly different path on my journey.

I’ve just begun Qigong teacher training, and in today’s live class, there was a moment of … knowing and witnessing. A very clear awareness of the observer.

And it struck me, that this is an awareness that I have felt most in meditation. This version of me that sits quietly in the background. The teenager who was navigating growing up, feeling life so deeply, always seeking something to ground and hold me … and the thrill of experiencing deep stillness in meditation. Certainly not perfectly, not consistently, but enough to recognise there was something there. Something steady. Something safe.

I had a kind of knowing … though certainly not a fully formed one at the time … that meditation would become the thread carrying me through so many seasons of life.

Through the building of a corporate career.
Through marriage, and then the unraveling of it.
Through becoming a single mum.
Through being retrenched, and questioning what next.
Through the many, invisible moments that ask something of us … when we’re already stretched.

Life doesn’t really space these things out neatly does it?

And we all share variations of these feelings … times of overwhelm, uncertainty, pressure, grief, starting again, not knowing the next step, and holding it all together.

Over the years, I came to realise that meditation isn’t something separate from my life – it was the place I returned to within it. This refuge, and steadying space. Sometimes spacious and devotional. Sometimes just a few conscious breaths between responsibilities. And, it’s always been there.

So, it’s from this lived experience, along the way, that I’ve created offerings to share the power of this practice … what I call a ‘life skill‘.

If you’re not sure where to start (or restart) .. this is exactly why I created the QUIET PAUSE.

A monthly rhythm.
One simple practice.
Something to return to each week – not to master but to familiarise.

There’s something powerful about staying with one light .. to really know and become your practice.

And then there’s the simplicity of the breath .. my friend and my confidant.

So often overlooked because it’s always with us. But when you begin to understand how your breath actually works, how it influences your nervous system, your stress response, your sense of calm and ease, then it shifts from being auto-pilot … to being a tool.

Your tool.

The MEDITATIVE EXERCISES with the Breath course was created from this realisation. Not long, sacred or complicated practices. Just simple, practical techniques you can use in real moments – when stress rises, when emotions peak, when you need something steady right then. A few minutes can literally be enough to change your state.

And once you feel that for yourself, it’s something you carry into every part of life.

And when you’re ready to explore a little more …

EXPLORING MEDITATION is a 40-day journey for a reason.

Firstly, there’s something quietly powerful about 40 days and it’s a rhythm seen across many traditions .. a period of gentle transformation. Not forced. Not rigid. But consistent.

Over those 40 days, you’re invited into different “landscapes” of meditation with different techniques, different doorways – so you can discover what resonates with YOU.

Not what works for someone else. Not what you think you ‘should’ be doing.

But what feels natural, supportive … and sustainable.

This course is like your own little laboratory – a space to experience what a daily rhythm of practice actually feels like, with guidance, structure, and support along the way.

Each of these lovingly created courses, every offering, is always shaped by real life – my real life!

By the moments where I needed something to hold onto.
By the understanding that meditation doesn’t need to be complicated to be powerful.
And by years of walking alongside others as they find their own way into it.

If you’re feeling the nudge … even a quiet curiosity … that’s enough.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You don’t need the ‘perfect routine.’

The best time to begin has always been NOW!
