WELCOME TO EXPLORING MEDITATION
A 40-day journey into the transformative power of meditation, exploring a range of techniques, and addressing some of the common challenges – to cultivate a consistent, sustainable and enjoyable personal practice.
The heart of this course is born from my deep passion for meditation and the transformative power it holds. Over the many years of my practice, meditation has supported and expanded my sense of presence, brought a profound inner calm, and opened my perspective of both inner and outer worlds .. and, I believe it has changed the filter through which I perceive and experience daily life. My journey with meditation began over 30 years ago, and then, in 2009, I was called to share this practice with others – literally, asked by too many people, over too short a number of days, not to heed the message!
The Exploring Meditation course is designed for those new to meditation, as well as individuals looking to reignite or recommit to their practice.
There are many reasons that people find their way to meditation .. life is often too busy, too noisy and too fast-paced, it’s not uncommon to experience moments of overwhelm, stress, anxiety, and fatigue. Sometimes there is a subtle yearning for greater presence and connection. And sometimes, our health nudges us toward this ancient practice. Meditation offers a proven path to alleviate many of these ancient and modern challenges, and enhance our sense of wellbeing.
In the Exploring Meditation course, we focus on a range of different techniques rooted in Mindfulness and Mantra meditation over a journey together of 40 days. This approach allows you to experience different meditation techniques and tools, so that you might discover the practice(s) that resonate most with you.
Finding the meditation technique that suits your lifestyle and interests will help you tap into the benefits of a consistent meditation routine: which offers heightened presence, clarity, calmness, and focus.
Over 40 days (six weeks) you will receive a daily email containing practical instructions and a guided audio practice for the day. This gentle progression helps you develop a formal seated practice, starting with just a 5-minute investment of your time and gradually extending to an effortless 20-30 minutes (or beyond). Additionally, you can join a weekly Zoom LIVE class where you can ask questions and participate in group meditation. You will also receive a downloadable Meditation Journal to record your thoughts and insights.
By the end of the Exploring Meditation course, you’ll have a much firmer understanding of the fundamental aspects of meditation, including both the how and the why. You’ll also have a sturdy foundation upon which to continue building and evolving your meditation practice.

Late Spring – As we transition from spring to summer there is a rapidly rising heat and fire energy that can significantly impact our energy levels and emotional wellbeing, often leading to issues around sleeping and heightened agitation. Building and maintaining a regular meditation practice during this season can help improve the smooth flow of Qi (life force energy), enhancing our adaptability to change and bringing some balance to our emotions.

Early Summer – A time of super abundant energy, both in the environment around us, but also experienced within us. The hot and expansive nature of early summer drives us toward increased productivity and socialisation, but it can also quickly lead us to experience burnout and lethargy. Cultivating a regular meditation practice during this time of year can help restore our Yin energy, to minimise stress, prioritise restorative sleep and foster a healthier stress response.
Course Structure

Every Monday 7:00 pm-8:00 pm (Melbourne, aest) via Zoom.
* Daily email
Receive a daily email with short instructions and a guided meditation (audio) to kickstart your journey towards building a consistent and sustainable practice. We begin with just a few minutes, gradually developing to a longer 20 minutes over the 40 days.
* A Meditation Journal
Enhance your mindful awareness with our Meditation Journal to record any insights or questions, along with a Meditation Habit Tracker to track your progress.
* Exploring Meditation Guidebook
On the successful completion of the course, you’ll receive our guidebook, a comprehensive ‘map’ of your journey holding all of the course content, journaling prompts and resources, serving as a continuing source of inspiration and support.

Week 2 : Anchoring the Body
Inhabiting the body with awareness of the myriad of sensations in seated and moving meditation.
Week 3 : Anchoring with the Breath
Finding and befriending your breath – a potent tool in meditation.
Week 4 : Mantra meditation
Transcending the thinking mind with the silent repetition of ‘words replacing words’.
Week 5 : Waves of the Mind
Exploring tools to quieten the mind chatter and navigate mental distractions.
Week 6 : Flow
To release, soften, and effortlessly explore the state of meditative ‘flow’

Hello and Welcome! I’m Sarah a long-time meditator (30+ years) and meditation teacher since 2009, when I founded Quiet Mind Meditation. Meditation is my ‘non-negotiable’, my daily practice that grounds and guides me through life. Over the years I’ve had the honour of learning from various teachers and traditions, as well as completing a range of meditation teacher training certifications.
