This sweet little video came up in conversation twice last week .. I had posted it some years ago on our old website, but it is worth a revisit.

A simple reminder of how we often try to handle the ‘fly’ (pesky thoughts and chatter) that are present in our meditation practice:

*Do you give all your effort to control or kill off the thought? .. which tends to fuel the mind to be even more disruptive (like the saying ‘what we resist .. persists’)

or

*Do you engage with the thought and thereby feed and nourish it? .. which helps the distraction grow, and grow

or

*Perhaps you have a sense of that inner seat of stillness and peace that you are cultivating in your meditation, regardless of the chaos surrounding you?

All these responses are very normal, even within the one meditation.

This is meditation.
